Aloha, friends! Get ready to dive into the lush greens of Hawai’i with this full-length tutorial! 🌿
Come paint a gorgeous kupukupu fern (a native Hawaiian plant) with me, using just two brushes and a few simple watercolor mixes.
We'll be practicing those brushstrokes and creating beautiful variation by dropping in extra splashes of color. All you need are these supplies:
- Medium round brush
- Small round brush
- Fern: A premixed green watercolor paint, or your favorite mix (I used Phthalo Blue Green Shade and Permanent Yellow, both from Daniel Smith Watercolors)
- Optional: A dark blue or yellow that you like when it's mixed with your green
- Premixed brown or a red to mix with the green to make the stem
Let’s enjoy the beauty in the details as we create with art together!
