How to Book a Lesson
Step 1: Verify Mutual Availability
General Availability in Fall/Spring semesters for private lessons: Mon-Thurs 2:30-4, 4-5:30, or 5:30-7. Very limited Fri/Sat lessons.
General Availability for watercolor paint parties: Call or email for availability (2 hr timeslots + setup/cleanup time is needed)
Unavailable: Sundays and major holidays.
Please contact me if you have questions about a specific timeslot. I typically need 1-2 weeks notice to start a new student.
After purchasing lessons, please use the private link in the email to officially book your lessons, or you may call/email to schedule.
Step 2: Purchase Your Lesson
Select Your Lesson Package. After purchasing a lesson, you may officially book your lessons.
Step 3: Schedule Your Time
Immediately after your purchase, you will receive an email confirmation with a link to officially claim your specific date on the calendar. (Of course you can call or email me too!)
Please check your spam/junk folder if you don't see the email within a few minutes. Searching for "Hawai'i Art Classes" or "Rebecca Block" usually does the trick!
*Private paint party customers should call or email to book your party.

FAQs
If you have more specific questions about dates and times, feel free to contact me. If you're ready to book, choose your type of lesson here.
Q: How far in advance do I need to book a private lesson? A: Typically, lessons can be booked with 1-2 weeks' notice. The first lesson must be booked within 90 days of your purchase, which typically gives us ample room to align our schedules. If you have a specific date in mind, I recommend booking your private lessons at least a week in advance to ensure you get your preferred time.
Q: How far in advance do I need to book a private Watercolor Paint Party? A: Private Watercolor Paint Parties need at least 2 weeks' notice if your guest list is ready to be contacted. If your guest list is not yet formed or you need to ask other people about preferred projects, I recommend at least 4 weeks in advance.
Q: Is your availability flexible? Do you have other times open? A: The times listed on this page represent my core teaching hours. I professionally paint and teach my own kids at home during the day. I maintain a consistent schedule to provide the best experience for all my students as well as my own family. I also don't teach on Sundays. I generally cannot alter the start and end times of the listed slots. This way, I can also fit in other students that day and still have time with my family in the evenings. My weekday morning availability expands significantly during the summer break.
Q: What if I get caught in traffic and am going to be late? A: Please let me know only if it is safe to do so. After 15 minutes, I will text to check in. After 30 minutes, I will assume you aren't coming, close my garage door, and work on other things. If traffic is so bad that you will miss a significant portion of your lesson, it would be better to reschedule. I cannot run overtime into the next lesson because I often have another student arriving at the end of your lesson or have my own family to take care of in the evenings.
Q: What if I have a specific time I need for my lesson? A: The best approach is to contact me before purchasing if you have specific dates or times that you need. I can then personally confirm my availability for you. The easiest way to avoid any scheduling issues is to simply reach out to me first!
Q: What if I purchase a lesson and can't find a time that works? A: It is the parent's/student's responsibility to ensure their schedule aligns with the general availability posted on this page. If you have specific scheduling needs (such as ONLY one specific time slot available the whole week), you are strongly advised to contact me prior to purchasing to confirm a suitable time slot.
Should you choose to purchase before confirming availability and no mutual time can be found, a refund can be processed. To initiate this, you will need to request the refund via email. Again, it is best to confirm a time slot, especially if you have a very busy schedule and limited time for an art class.
Q: Can I drop my child off early? A: No. Please keep your child in the car until your time slot. I may be prepping supplies and/or finishing up with other students until that time.
Q: Can I pick my child up late? A: No. I have other things to do so please do not assume it's ok to purposely pick up your child late from their lesson. I understand traffic happens, in which case I will have your child wait in the garage until you arrive. If chronic late pickups become the norm, we will need to discuss other options for your timeslot.
