Experiment with materials and build technical skills through a survey of 2D and 3D art.

Creative students often want to push their work further but need the logical framework to do so. In these private lessons, we move beyond simple crafts to explore the elements of art and principles of design. Rebecca provides the personalized instruction and "no-judgment" guidance necessary for youth to level up their craftsmanship while experimenting with a wide range of media.

What’s Included in Your Experience

• Diverse Media Exploration: Students get hands-on experience with 2D and 3D materials, including watercolor and acrylic paint, charcoal, pastels, polymer clay, and mixed media.
• Art History Integration: We look at the work of artists past and present from around the world, with a specific focus on Hawai‘i-based artists and Pacific art history.
• Skill Building: Students learn how to use professional tips and tricks to improve their drawing and painting techniques, moving from "getting messy" to intentional art-making.
• Comprehensive Curriculum: Topics can include everything from sculpture and fiber arts to graphic design and photography, tailored to the student’s interests and developmental level.

Booking Details

• Ages: Kids and teens ages 9–17.
• Timeframe: 1.5 hours per lesson.
• Frequency: Lessons are typically held once per week or once every other week.
• Series Options: Packages of 4 or 8 lessons are available.
• Location: My home studio in Waipahu (mauka from Lowe’s off H1/Exit 7). The exact address is emailed after registration. (Please check your spam folder.)
• Studio Readiness: Students are expected to use materials responsibly and follow studio safety rules. Please review our full policies here.

• Pricing: Select your lesson bundle from the drop-down menu.
• Supplies: All professional supplies are included for use in the studio. Doodling and planning future projects at home is highly encouraged to reinforce skills learned in class.
• Sibling/Friend Discount: Receive 15% off when registering 2 or more students together! The discount applies automatically at checkout (Ages 9–17).
• Charter School Students: Rebecca is a certified K-12 Art teacher in the state of Hawai‘i with a B.S. in Education. These lessons may qualify for charter school reimbursement; please contact Rebecca if you need specific documentation.

How to Schedule Your Lessons

1. Confirm Availability: Before purchasing, please check the calendar page for mutual availability. Lessons are 1.5 hours. (Lessons are typically held weekdays after 1pm and select Saturday afternoons.)
2. Purchase Your Bundle: Once you've confirmed a time slot that works for you, return to this page to purchase your 4, 8, or 12-lesson package.
3. Finalize Details: You will receive a confirmation email with a link to my calendar app to officially lock in your dates, or you may email/call to schedule them. Please check your spam folder for "Rebecca Block" if you do not see a message within a few minutes.
